Local Area Marketer Details about this role Full-Time Location in Tokyo, Japan (fully in person) Working within the JP Sales & Marketing team What you will be responsible for: This role is responsible for ensuring effective local offline and digital marketing through content creation and localisation, and digital targeting. Responsibilities include: Generating marketing ideas and owning marketing initiatives. Driving quality leads into consultations with the local sales team. Organising local marketing events and initiatives. Editing, proofreading, and improving the content for the slide decks by collaborating with team members. Copywriting tasks in both English and Japanese, including, social media ads, EDM campaigns, print collateral, and event descriptions Localising global campaigns and other marketing materials into English and Japanese to suit the Japan audience Working closely with the digital marketing team to optimize online content, landing pages, social posts, ads and EDMs to promote local events and initiatives. Monitoring leads and conversion from marketing across all channels (Events, Facebook, Content, Emails, PR, SEO & more) with monthly progress reporting, customer behaviour and user experience. Skills we are looking for: Strong storytelling skill and ability to connect emotionally with target prospects Basic understanding of how paid digital advertising works on Google, Facebook, and other social media platforms Experience crafting webinars, blog posts, multimedia content, and sales collateral Fluency in English and Cantonese, speaking these languages idiomatically. Strong command of language is necessary to write a good copy in English and Japanese. Knowledge of Japan and local marketing channels and partnership organisations for pursuing higher education overseas An understanding of the US/UK undergraduate application process Ability to work flexible hours when necessary (occasional meetings with other markets/time zones) Applicant must be eligible to work in Tokyo, Japan Personal qualities we are looking for: High learning agility and growth mindset – comfort in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Creativity and drive - you love to explore new ideas and can see a project through from start to finish on time Self-driven and self-directed Collaborative and communicative.
